Our OLD FRIENDS will be well aware of our history; since the turn of the century PORTERS have
been making flags in the heart of Liverpool's dock land, from where they have been shipped to every
part of the globe for Independence celebrations and other special occasions. Our flags went with
Scott to the Antarctic and draped the coffin at Sir Winston Churchill's funeral; there are very few
governments and leading companies around the world that have not bought their flags from PORTERS
at one time or another.
Our NEW FRIENDS may not know that from a small room employing originally some half- dozen
staff, PORTERS has grown into a modern factory complex using the latest appliances and selling
many articles other than flags.
We have built our reputation by putting a high emphasis on quality and this policy continues today;
There is rigorous internal training for all our staff and we have been approved by the British Ministry
of Defence to carry out our own inspections to their exacting standards. We are also accredited to IS0 9002.
We do claim, therefore, with justification, to produce flags equal to any and surpassed by none.
Our OLD FRIENDS know this from past experience; we hope that this website will encourage our
NEW FRIENDS to find out for themselves why the name PORTERS is synonymous with flags.
